Case Study: A Message to Inclusive Change, by Rebecca Lee
The modern day workplace has transformed over the last fourteen years. The environment has changed immensely, since I was last working within it. My time has been dedicated to my family and our four children (aged between 5 and 14) and my beautiful hairy dog, Stan.
As my youngest child started school, I enrolled in the Women’s Work Lab (WWL) to start a course and help my transition back into the realm of being in the workplace. The WWL was founded with the belief that every woman deserves access to equal opportunities and resources in the workforce. They offer an array of programs, workshops and networking opportunities for women to recognise, their talents and work towards professional fulfilment.
Fast forward a few months, and I step through the door, as part of my work placement (wielding a homemade ginger cake - who doesn't love cake?!) to be greeted by these lovely people. The ethos of inclusivity isn't just a buzzword here; it's ingrained in the very fabric of the organization. Every team member, regardless of their background or identity, is embraced for the unique perspective they bring to the table
My role, as part of my learning here is to support the team with some administrative tasks - which I have enjoyed. It's given me an opportunity to use some different technologies, like Canva - which is a user-friendly graphic design platform that offers a variety of templates and tools to create visually appealing designs. I have also had the opportunity to use the business platform - TekMatix. These are new entities for me, and I've enjoyed trying to use them.
I have enjoyed my time working alongside some fabulous people, here at Inclusive Change and I am supporting them in collating some information with regards to the greatly anticipated Castle Conference scheduled for next month.
Thank you for making me so very welcome, I have really enjoyed my time here with you all.
