Learn more about neurodiversity
Project Sandbox has been a really great experience for me. I struggle a lot with anxiety, especially socially, so doing the project has helped me step out of my comfort zone. Everyone I’ve worked with has been incredibly kind and understanding of my struggles which has made me feel very welcome and supported. I didn’t have the opportunity to do work experience while I was at school since it was cancelled because of covid, so having the opportunity to fill that gap in an environment that felt safe to me was very valuable.
I choose a picture of a cat as they're my favourite animal.
I feel more confident now that I would be able to potentially do further work experience. I’ve learnt new skills too that have opened potential new doors for me, for example I learnt that I enjoy blogging about my experiences which I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. I also really enjoyed doing research for the episodes and doing web development. I’ve had a lot of fun working on Project Sandbox and hope to get involved in any future volunteering Inclusive Change offers.
