Name: Emily Chittell
Job Title: Business Administrator
What does your role involve at Inclusive Change? Primarily I have been bought on board to implement the Tekmatix software that Inclusive Change are using. It's an all-in-one CRM that I am still getting my head around as it can do so much. It really is a clever bit of software and is a great time saver for the company as we can create automations for so many tasks, lightening the load on the team which gives more support time for clients. It's great to have all the facets of the business in one area; the website, databases, socials are all in one bit of software, which makes my life much easier!
Morning person or a night owl?
In my 20's I was definitely a night owl, these days I love an early night with a blanket and a book!
What show are you currently binge-watching?
Just started Fallout, Walton Goggins is a favourite of mine. I am also re-watching The Big Bang Theory with my daughter.
When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
I honestly never knew. My parents both worked in a particular industry, so I followed their lead for 10 years, but realised freelance work wasn't for me (I'm a big fan of stability). I recently re-trained in computer science, and wish I had done that years ago. I guess what I'm saying is, it's never too late to discover your passion.
What is something you recently learned?
On a personal level, the last three years I have been studying for my bachelors degree in Applied Computing with University of Bath. I achieved a first class honours, and I definitely learned a lot. From web development, to programming, to digital forensics and penetration testing, with everything else 'computer' in between. I think a stand out personal learning moment for me was that I love to research and put together my reports and assignments, that I have a love for learning new technologies and that I am capable, even though my confidence tried telling me otherwise.
A non-personal thing I have learned recently from working at Inclusive Change, is about the 'Access to Work' government scheme which exists to support neurodivergent employees and their employers. They can provide funds for businesses to make sure their neurodivergent and disabled employees particular needs are being met. It is often referred to as the best kept government secret, and I wish more people knew about it.
What motivates you at work?
Collaboration, new tasks and ideas, seeing a project through from a seed to implementation.
What are your aspirations in your role at Inclusive Change?
I would like to support Lucy's many visions in any way that I can. Inclusive Change has so many great ideas and opportunities, it's exciting to just be a part of it.
